Maw Kwee is a small rural village in Thailand along the Burmese border.  With limited access to education in rural Karen State, Burma, students travel to Maw Kwee to attend the primary school alongside the local children.  Some students have fled conflict zones and Maw Kwee School was one of their only options for schooling outside of the refugee camps.

115 students stay in dormitories adjacent to the school and at night only have candle light to study by. By installing a solar system and providing lighting, The Branch Foundation and Solbakken are empowering the students to further their education and live in a safe environment.
