In February of 2017, Solbakken in collaboration with the Wide Horizons School, completed its only urban project.  The Minmahaw school, located in Mae Sot, Thailand, is a two-year program that selects students between 17-23 from nearby refugee camps.  The school’s mission is to increase the access to international higher education for marginalized students.  Before Solbakken undertook this project, the school had insufficient water to cook, bathe, and use the toilet with.  By installing a solar pump, water tower, and additional water storage tanks, the school and the boy and girl dormitory all have sufficient water access.
